(Spoilers on the general vibe of Nope's ending below)
Stunning blend of horror and western. Incredible cinematography, perfect actors, just stellar all around. Love the happy ending tbh.
Nope is a stunning blend of horror film and old-school western, and probably Peele's best movie, even if I personally enjoy Get Out the most (if you're wondering how I feel about Us: it scares me the most, for some reason. I have a hard time rewatching that movie because it's so unsettling to me lol).
I am a cavemint when it comes to movies. I do not particularly focus on or take notice of cinematography, as I'm mostly driven by plot (or action - again, cavemint). Nope is so good that it made me understand what a well-placed shot is. The lighting, color, and camerawork had me gripping my seat, even on my rewatch for Spook Month. The actors are absolutely perfect - Keke Palmer is undeniable, and I love Daniel Kaluuya's solemn, cowboy-esque demeanor.
But most of all, I love the ending. I love it when Black people get to have their Oprah moment tbh. Life is miserable - let mfers have a good ending.
