Physical Media, Focus & More
Another week, another Newsletter. I didn't think I'd be back so soon but I've been writing a ton lately. That said, I reserve the right to change the consistency of this newsletter whenever I want.[1]
This week I've got thoughts on apps, devices, physical media and more. Check it!
Interesting Stuff
EmmetApp
This is a neat little window-organizing app for my Macbook. I'm quite smitten with it.
Onyx Boox Page
The Onyx Boox Page is an e-reader built on top of Android - down to the ability to download apps right from the Google Play Store. I wrote a little review after using it this past week, but the TLDR is that I really like it!
Kirby Watch
My Kirby Watch from SuperGroupies came in! It's absolutely gorgeous. I had no idea the top half changed as time progressed. It shows Kirby riding a star before progressing past a moon. Very happy with it and I'll probs grab other stuff from SuperGroupies in the future - but uh, not any time soon 'cause said stuff is pricey. đŦ
I Genuinely Love Focus To-Do
It's true! I have revisited the Pomodoro Timer as a productivity technique post-ADHD diagnosis, and it's really helped me. I'd argue it's the only reason I've been able to work on Poena Mortis, and this Digital Garden. You can read all about it via the link above.
Thoughts on Gundam Breaker 3
It's Gundam x Diablo x Bayonetta. I don't know why you'd possibly need more, but I do have a whole bunch of words describing how much I love this game available for you to give a look.
Family & Rediscovering Physical Media
I've been getting into games as a hobby with my nephews, and it has sort of restructured my prioritization when it comes to maintaining physical media. Feel free to peruse said thoughts.
Trust and Safety Tycoon
Less a review and more a link to a cool bug thing I found. I'll probably do more "curating" like this in issues of this newsletter down the line. This one's a game about running the Trust and Safety Team of a Social Media app. It's equal parts fun and stressful - I'd never want to be in those shoes for real. Give it a try.
Percolating Stuff
I mentioned I had a post related to the weather that I'd like to write. I still want to do that but I honestly can't get into it until the weather actually gets as cool as I'd like it to be. So it waits. I heard we might get snow this Sunday, so that might be a good time to draft it out. Beyond that I'll have some thoughts on Spider-Man 2 that I'll be getting into, because I foresee myself finishing it in the next few days. So be on the look for that!
Status Update
Even before my mom came to the states from Sudan, one of her biggest dreams has been to go to Hawaii. A variety of hard life-circumstances hasn't allowed that to be possible - until next week. I finally get to fulfill that dream for her next Thursday. I'm excited for her - I mean, I'm excited to just because I enjoy traveling in general, but Hawaii hasn't been very high on my list. My mom, however, is a tourist traveler, so I'm sure she's going to have a blast. I have the whole 6ish days or so planned out, but if you have suggestions, hmu on Cohost!
Signing Off
That's it for now. I'm ready for the weather to cool down enough to consistently wear the slowly growing collection of Kigurumis I've gathered in the past few months. Hope your Spook Month is going well. See you next time. đđž
