Xbox Partner Showcase Thoughts

Microsoft had an Xbox Partner Showcase for us to look at. It was uh. Well.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta

It looks great! I had no idea it was on Unreal Engine 5, but okay. I would have preferred the FOX Engine but I assume Konami just doesn't wanna deal with a single thing that Kojima has touched at this point. More of an engine trailer than anything else. I wanna see the changes they made to gameplay. I'm hoping it's closer to MGSV as far as locomotion and options.

Alan Wake II Launch Trailer

Reminded me that I've yet to finish Control, and Flynn gets closer to outright murdering me for it every day. I'll play this, eventually, the same way I played Alan Wake, eventually. (Last year)

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Everyone kept calling the resort section "Animal Crossing." It's not. It's not! That shit was Dark Cloud through and through,. But I'm not surprised people didn't realize, because Level-5 certainly doesn't want you to remember that series existed.

Regardless, I don't need to see any more of Y8. I'm just gonna buy it, it's all good SEGA.

Ark: Survival Ascended

All I know about this remake is the obscene amount of drama tethered to it. Apparently it was supposed to be a free upgrade, then they turned it into paid remake for $60. That's already pretty meh, but I guess the official servers for the original game will now be shut down, so you won't be able to play the original anymore unless you pay for your own servers. Yikes!

Manor Lords

Looks like a game for people who miss Game of Thrones. I don't.

RoboCop: Rogue City

I liked the Terminator game this team did, but I also bought it for $8. I'll probably do the same for RoboCop and have the same level of enthusiasm.

Still Wakes the Deep

Every time I see a game from "The Chinese Room" I remember that it's a team comprised entirely of White people. What's uh. What's up with that? Why is it called The Chinese Room. And yes I know about the theory (thanks Virtue's Last Reward"). I still think it's kinda strange!

Dungeons of Hinterberg

Looks cute. I was actually charmed by the way it chugged in the trailer. We were looking at a real-ass game, and I appreciate that. Hope the writing holds up if it's gonna include social-sim elements.

Spirit of the North 2

Looks like the kind of game that's built to squeeze tears out of me while soaring music plays at the end. Cool 👍🏾

I was interested in this game until I found out the narration is created via AI voices. Fuck that and fuck you! :)

Ikaro: Will Not Die

I couldn't tell what this game was but I was intrigued. Now I know it's a spiritual successor to Velocity 2X, I'll probably buy it day one. The former is one of the best games on the Vita, if you haven't tried it check it out!

So yeah it was fine. I was happier with it before I found out about that shit in The Finals, but disappointment and the gaming industry, name a more iconic duo!!
